The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Cast Bids An Emotional Farewell To Costar Keegan Allen

With filming on the final season of Pretty Little Liars nearing completion, the cast is having to say their goodbyes to one another and it’s very emotional.

Troian Bellisario has already penned a few sweet messages to producers and even her PLL room as she continues to film the last few episodes of season 7 of the Freeform series. Her most recent goodbye, however, is even more of a tearjerker because it is for her on-screen counterpart, Keegan Allen, who shot his final scene as Toby Cavanaugh on Wednesday.

Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings, isn’t just Allen’s co-star, she’s also his friend, which makes her heartfelt goodbye post that much more touching.

“There are not words that I can write (here) that could express the gratitude I have for walking next to this man for 7 years. @keeoone you know how I feel about you,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the two on set. “You know what this part of my life means to me, you know all of the darkness and the light that we have shared over these years, the insane pants pissing laughter and now the heaving and hiccuping sobs that will live in my heart forever. Even if Spencer and Toby only exist in Rosewood you will always have me. Love you friend. Thank you,” she concluded. Okay, cue the waterworks!

Ian Harding, who plays Ezra, also weighed in with a posted goodbye.

“This isn’t a good photo, but it’s an important one. I snapped it quickly from across a subway platform several years ago. Keegan and I were both working in the city, but managed to catch up one afternoon. We walked and talked for hours, waxing poetic and picking apart the little moments of our lives. It’s a habit he and I continue to this day. Of the many blessings this show has bestowed upon me, meeting and befriending this fellow counts as one of the most important. Much love and happy wrap my friend,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, series creator Marlene King took to Twitter to say goodbye to “one of the most special people” she knows.

“This was a tough one,” wrote King. “That’s a series wrap on @KeeganAllen. One of the most special people I know.”

Although we are becoming more and more aware that the end is near for Pretty Little Liars, the second half of the final season doesn’t premiere until April 2017, so at least we still have something to look forward to.

No matter what happens on the final season however, there is one thing we will take away from Bellisario’s adorable message to Allen and that is… Spencer and Toby will forever be together – even if it’s just in Rosewood!
