Oregon Man Steals a Street Sweeper and Leads Cops on a 10-Mile Chase

An Oregon man didn’t make the best choice in vehicles to steal or to get away in.

33-year-old Tyler Haguewood swiped a street sweeper early Sunday, then led cops on a 10-mile chase that never topped 65 miles per hour.

He’d hopped into the street sweeper and drove off at roughly 3:45 a.m. after the driver had gotten out to use a handheld blower to get where the sweeper couldn’t.

Cops quickly found the vehicle on the empty streets.

When officers hit their emergency lights, the street sweeper kept going. It all ended when Haguewood drove over spike strips.

He was promptly arrested and charged with auto theft and attempting to elude police.

He’s being held in the Washington County jail.
