Nickelodeon has just announced that it’s not moving forward with Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, and fans are bummed about it.
On Wednesday (Nov. 15), the network announced that it was canceling Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, and although the news came as a surprise to some of the fans, many saw it coming.
“Nickelodeon is not moving forward with production on Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and School of Rock,” Nickelodeon announced in a statement via Just Jared Jr. “We are extremely proud of each series, and thankful to the casts and crews for their work. The remaining episodes for both shows will continue to air on Nickelodeon through 2018.”
Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn follows the lives of the Harper quadruplets as theynavigate being siblings and try to figure out school. Despite the fact that this is sad news, it isn’t a total surprise seeing as one of the lead characters, Mace Coronel, who played Dicky Harper, left the series towards the end of filming the fourth season. According to Deadline, the actor and network “mutually parted ways,” but life without one of the quadruplets seems like a little odd, and could’ve influenced the network’s decision.
The good news however is that season 4 of the Nick series has yet to air, so you will still get one more season of fun from the Harper siblings beginning in 2018. In fact, according to Lizzy Greene, who plays Dawn Harper, this season “is going to be our best season yet.”
Here’s hoping that Greene is right, and that the cast goes out with a bang!
Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn will return for season 4 in 2018 on Nickelodeon.
