Jane Leeves Is Heading Back To TV With New Fox Comedy Pilot

Get ready, TV fans, because Jane Leeves is nearing a return to the small screen!

According to Deadline, Leeves has been tapped to play one of the leading roles on Fox’s untitled Erin Foster comedy pilot for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. The new comedy is written by Foster (who will also star in it) and comes from New Girl creator Liz Meriwether.

The untitled Erin Foster comedy is loosely based on Foster’s life and focuses on Andi (Foster), whose father Roman (played by Don Johnson) starts dating her best friend (Janina Gavankar).

So who will Leeves be portraying in this comedy? Andi’s mother, of course! Leeves is set to play Angela, who is Roman’s ex-wife and Andi’s “chic and confident” mother.

Over the years fans have seen Leeves comedy skills on display on Frasier, where she earned an Emmy for her role as Daphne Moon, and more recently as Joy Scroggs on Hot in Cleveland. Leeves seems like the perfect fit for Andi’s mother, especially since the British actress is so poised and at the same time knows exactly when to bring the heat and make viewers laugh in the process.
