If Harry Styles ever decides to quit singing — fingers crossed that never happens — he might have a future as a talk show host, and we can prove it.
On Tuesday (Dec. 12), Styles channeled his inner host to replace James Corden on The Late Late Show for one night and one night only… with about two hours’ notice!
According to the “Sign of the Times” singer’s opening monologue, he filled in for his longtime friend at a moment’s notice, because Corden had just welcomed a new baby, and he not only nailed the opening bit, but Styles shined throughout the show.
“This is very exciting, just a half an hour ago, James and his wife Jules had a beautiful baby girl,” Styles said as he began his opening monologue. “In fact, I was just at the hospital before I came to fill in, and she looks a lot like James, mainly because James looks like a giant baby.”
Styles then pointed out that it’s not his show, but he’s not opposed to coming back, and we’re major fans of the former One Direction singer making this a more regular thing.
“I want you to know that I of course know that this is James’ show, it’s his show and it’s a one-time only, one-time thing. One time… unless CBS likes what they see,” he added before pointing at the camera and winking.
Did you like what you saw with Styles as the late-night talk show host? Would you want to see him do this more often?
