‘Harry Potter’ Star Matthew Lewis Relived His Childhood While Watching ‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’ Play

There was a Harry Potter meetup over the weekend and it’s filling our heart with so much joy!

On Saturday, Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis revisited his wizard roots by attending the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London and shared the sweet moment after hanging out with the cast backstage.

For all you Potterheads out there, you know that Lewis played the lovable Neville Longbottom in all of the Harry Potter movies, and although the film franchise ended in 2011, by watching J.K. Rowling’s final goodbye (and eighth story) to the beloved series on stage, he was able to relive his childhood and feel like a kid once more.

Lewis saw the two-part play on back-to-back nights and posed with stars Poppy Miller (who plays Ginny), Jamie Parker (who plays Harry), and Paul Thornley (who plays Ron),=.

“A giant congratulations and an even bigger thank you to these guys and the rest of the cast of #CursedChild. To be in the movies was a dream come true but it became work and I forgot what it was to be a fan a long time ago,” Lewis wrote alongside a photo with some of the show’s grown-up cast.

“However, over the last two nights I was able to enjoy the world of Harry Potter once again. To lose myself in a story so rich and so powerful and, more importantly, that I had nothing to do with was truly magical. I felt like I was nine years old again, discovering it all for the first time and it is very, very special,” he added.

The 27-year-old actor also took a photo with stars, Sam Clemmett, who plays Albus, aka Harry and Ginny’s son, and Anthony Boyle, who plays Scorpius, aka Draco’s son, in the play. Hanging out with Draco’s son? That doesn’t seem like something Neville would do!
