Workers at the Habibi Deli in the Bronx are considering themselves lucky after a gun-toting suspect allegedly tried to kill them — but the gun jammed.
The whole incident began shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, at the East Gun Hill Road Deli. That is where police say 22-year-old Timothy Bohler walked in and tried to buy an Arizona ice tea on credit. When the clerk said no, Bohler became irate and tried to steal the clerk’s money. As Bohler turned to leave, he was followed by deli worker Ali Hadiss. Bohler turned around and allegedly threw the can of ice tea at Hadiss’s face, cutting his upper lip. Hadiss needed four stitches for that cut.
