Prison Break is the gift that keeps on giving, and it could be coming back again…someday.
In May, Fox announced that Prison Break’s most-current journey aka the revival, which was the fifth season overall of the show, would not be moving forward for the 2017-2018 TV season. That being said, the masterminds behind the series aren’t closing the book on the hit forever. In a new interview with TV Line, FOX entertainment chief David Madden hinted that there could still be a sixth season of the series.
“If the producers have a thought about how to explore another iteration of it, we’d be excited to talk,” Madden told TV Line at the 2017 Television Critics Association summer press event.
While there aren’t any current talks about moving forward with Prison Break, knowing that the top brass is at least open to hearing future pitches in regards to the series is great news for fans of brothers Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller). There was a break from the season four finale in 2009 to the revival in 2017, so we can — and will — wait for another comeback.
News of a potential second revival in the future, paired with the fact that Miller previously admitted that he’d welcome more tales about his character Michael, means fans are right in holding out hope for even more from this show and its great actors.
“I feel like there’s more story there and now we’re talking about multiple generations,” Miller told Entertainment Weekly in April.
Here’s hoping Prison Break creators manage to come up with another chapter to the show. What do you think about more Prison Break?
