Matt Czuchry has been a part of two very successful series throughout his career with Gilmore Girls and The Good Wife, and now that he’s stepping into the lead character role on his new show The Resident, he’s even more aware of how great his past characters have been.
During the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Czuchry talked to Fox News about the legacy of Gilmore Girls in particular and why it was such a “rare” instance that it had a successful comeback in 2016.
“It was such an important piece of my life and it was such a rare thing to come back again after nine years. That felt like a perfect time to have everything come back,” he told Fox News about reprising his role of Logan Huntzberger for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. “Everybody associated with that and what that [show has] done for me personally and professionally is so important to me.”
Even though it’s been 10 plus years since the original Gilmore Girls ended and it’s already been more than a year since we got the revival, Czuchry will never forget the show, and its fans.
“I know that fans are incredibly passionate about that show and incredibly passionate about that particular character that I played,” he said. “It’s so rare to have a show that has lasted this long when it’s been off the air and come back after nine years, so it’s really a rare one to be grateful for.”
Although there aren’t currently plans to add more episodes or installments of Gilmore Girls to its revival legacy just yet, Czuchry is the star of The Resident on Fox, so you can still see the actor on a regular basis!
The Resident airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
