Fergie is coming to a TV screen near you next year, but not as a performer! Instead, she’s going to be the host of an all-new reality competition!
The “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer has signed on as the host for the upcoming Fox series, The Four: Battle for Stardom, TVLine reports, and we are so ready to see Fergie as a host.
After ending its 15-year singing competition, American Idol, in 2016 (the show is being rebooted on ABC this spring), Fox is ready to add a new reality competition to its lineup, and Fergie will be leading it beginning in January.
In a statement, Fergie shared her excitement saying, she is “very excited and proud” to be a part of this six-episode event.
“This is a unique and modern show format that I believe will set the standard for the next generation of singing competition series on TV,” Fergie said in the statement via TVLine. “I am looking forward to being by the contestants’ sides during what could be the most important performances of their lives.”
The Four: Battle for Stardom will have Fergie as its host, in addition to a group of experts made up of DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and record label exec Charlie Walk. The show will begin with four finalists — picked from a national talent search — and follow them as they compete with newcomers each week to try and stay one of “the four,” and eventually be the final singer standing.
The Four: Battle for Stardom premieres on Thursday, January 4, 2018 on Fox.
