Emily Osment Could Be The Next Big CBS Sitcom Star

Could Emily Osment be the next big CBS sitcom star?

Deadline reports that Osment, who is just coming off five seasons as Gabi Diamond on Young & Hungry, has landed the role of Kate in the new CBS pilot, 25.

The proposed sitcom will focus on Kate (Osment), who lives in Austin, and her old best friend from camp Kyle (played by Matt Shively), who comes to Texas to try and convince her that they are actually meant to be together. The bad news is that Kate just got engaged, but that won’t deter Kyle from at least trying to win her heart.

According to Deadline, Osment’s Kate is a “fun, competitive, bright medical student.” Though her life seems to be pretty set, Kyle could shake it all up — even if she has already put him in the friend zone.

If 25 does get picked up for a full season order it will be Osment’s fourth big TV role in a row. In addition wrapping up filming on Young & Hungry last year (the second half of the current season airs in 2018), the Disney Channel alum has voiced numerous characters on Family Guy since 2012, and guest-starred on CBS’ Mom from 2015 to 2016. She is also currently working on The Kominsky Method, a Netflix comedy set for a 2018.
