In honor of her 60th birthday (which was on January 26th) Ellen DeGeneres did an interview with Today show’s Hoda Kotb and opened up about what she plans to do with the rest of her career.
While DeGeneres has already added another TV series to her slate – called Ellen’s Game of Games, which is a full show centered around DeGeneres’ iconic talkshow games – and she’s been in the industry for a long time now, the actress and talk show host doesn’t want to retire anytime soon, and that’s such good news.
“I don’t know [what I’m looking forward to],” DeGeneres told Kotb while sitting on the set of her show The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “That’s why I’m going to keep doing this until I figure that out.”
As for if she sees an end in sight, the Finding Dory star hasn’t really thought about it. “I’m not looking forward to retiring because I love doing this,” she added.
When it comes to hitting 60, DeGeneres was equally as thrown off by the thought of it, and her reaction is priceless. “I’m shocked that I’m turning 60 because it just sounds horrible. It just does,” she said about the monumental birthday.
We can’t believe that the amazing talk show host is 60 years old, but we are happy to hear that despite turning the big 6-0 she doesn’t want to stop doing what she does best… making people smile by watching her awesome TV show week after week.
