Colorado Teaching Assistant Accused of Sexual Assault of a Student

A teaching assistant in Greeley, Colorado was arrested on accusations of sexually assaulting a student.

24-year-old Jerica Enriquez stands accused of assaulting a teenage boy at Jefferson Junior High School in Greeley-Evans School District 6.

She worked with special ed students, but the student in question wasn’t among them. She never worked with the student victim.

She’s accused of an “inappropriate relationship” with at least one student, which included sharing nude photos with the 14-year-old boy.

Police first started investigating in early December after they were told about a possible case of sexual assault.

Interviews with students led them to search cell phones that had photos of Ms. Enriquez with a student, and a nude selfie she’d sent to a teenager.

One student says he’d messaged her and asked for a nude picture. He says he didn’t expect to actually receive one, but she sent one to him.

Authorities also learned that one boy allegedly had sex with her twice. Both times were after school in her car at a park.

A judge set her bond at $100,000.

She’s due back in court in early January.

She remains in custody and is on unpaid administrative leave.
