‘Code Black’ Boss Gives Fans Glimpse At Returning Season 3 Star

Code Black might not be back for its third season just yet, but the cast has officially returned work!

On Wednesday (Oct.25), showrunner Michael Seitzman revealed that Code Black was back in action with one picture, which was of course in black and white, for added edge. In addition to proving that the medical drama is filming again, his picture shows a fan-favorite and new season regular Emily Alyn Lind back on set.

“#codeblack with @EmilyAlynLind,” Seitzman simply captioned the on-set picture.

It looks as though Ariel is in one of the doctor’s offices at Angels Memorial doing a scene with an off-camera character as Seitzman reads along with the script.

While this picture doesn’t give too much away about season 3 of the ABC drama, it does give fans a first look at Lind as a series regular. Earlier this month, Deadline reported that Lind was promoted to series regular after appearing in the pilot episode and three following episodes in season 2.

Lind’s character Ariel is the process of being adopted by Dr. Leanne Rorish (played by Marcia Gay Harden), and with her push to full-time cast member it seems like we’re going to see a lot more from this duo around the hospital and at home.

Plus, with the potential of Ariel being in every episode next season, fans can be sure that her candy striper role will get bigger — or at least her desire to be around her surrogate family, who happen to be doctors at the hospital will increase.

Code Black will return for its third season sometime in 2018 on ABC.
