Chick-Fil-A Honors a Fallen Orlando Officer and Regular Customer by Setting Up a “Missing Man Table” With Empty Containers of His Favorite Food

A Chick-Fil-A location honored a fallen officer tragically killed on January 19th during a manhunt for a felon suspected of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, as well as another police officer.

11-year veteran Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Norman Lewis was killed in a motorcycle accident while assisting in that manhunt for 41-year-old Markeith Loyd after he’d allegedly shot and killed Orlando Police Department Master Sergeant Debra Thomas Clayton when she’d confronted him outside of a Walmart.

Deputy Lewis had frequently visited the location on University Avenue.

The staff at the Chick-Fil-A wanted to pay tribute to him, saying he’d eaten there at least twice a week.

They created what they called a “Missing Man Table” that had a framed photo of the fallen officer, as well as a rose, a Bible, a candle, and empty containers of his usual meal; a 12-piece chicken nuggets and a fruit cup.

The staff there say that his “smiling face will be truly missed!”

“Thanks is not enough for what brave men and women like Norm sacrifice for our safety every day,” the post on their Facebook page reads.
