The Chicago franchise can’t get enough of Jon Seda, and we are forever grateful for their allegiance. After NBC canceled Seda’s most recent Chicago show, Chicago Justice, earlier this year, fans were hoping the actor would return to Chicago P.D., and now they’re getting their wish!
On Wednesday (July 13), news broke that Seda had officially signed a deal to return to Chicago P.D. and we couldn’t be happier. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Seda is set to reprise his role as Det. Antonio Dawson on the cop drama, after leaving partway through season 4 to transition into the Justice spinoff.
Though saddened with @chicagojustice I’m humbled by all the love from the #OneChicago fans, thank you! Also, many thanks to DickWolf & @NBC

Seda confirmed the casting news on Twitter with a bittersweet announcement saying, “Though saddened with @chicagojustice I’m humbled by all the love from the #OneChicago fans, thank you! Also, many thanks to DickWolf & @NBC.”
Seda previously starred on Chicago Fire, before heading to Chicago P.D. and, then Chicago Justice.
“It’s a pleasure to have Jon back on Chicago P.D.,” Wolf said in a statement via TV Guide. “We have been working together for more than 20 years and I hope there are many more to come.”
While we still don’t know what Seda’s character will be up to come season 5, fans can at least rest easy because no matter what happens, at least Seda will be there to help navigate it!
Chicago P.D. returns September 27, 2017 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
