Aziz Ansari is a man of many talents. He’s an accomplished actor, stand-up comedian, showrunner, and author. But now we can add one more inadvertent accolade to his ever-expanding resume: nature documentary narrator.
A Reddit user by the name of benmeiri84 said his friend allegedly found a Netflix glitch that caused the subtitles from Aziz Ansari’s Live at Madison Square Garden standup special to appear over an episode of BBC’s Planet Earth. While Netflix has yet to comment on the validity of the closed captioning snafu, this happy accident gave us a number of hilarious screengrabs combining Ansari’s trenchant wit with pictures of animals.
Majestic photos of eagles, buffalo, and swan were captioned with first-rate Ansari witticisms like “Oh, I came to Brooklyn with $20 in my pocket,” “Yeah, so I’m at the club, like, minding my own business, right?” and “Ladies, let’s get out of this club! Dudes here are busted.”
It truly is one of the most entertaining Netflix Originals of the year.
Take a look at some of the examples of this wonderfully bizarre crossover below:
