We already know who the current highest-paid actress in the world is — cough, Emma Stone, cough — and now it’s time to find out which leading man is making the most bank.
Forbes has released its list of the World’s Highest-Paid Actors of 2017 list and the top 5 is packed with big names. So who took home the title of highest-paid actor this year? Mark Wahlberg!
Markie Mark is officially the biggest earner in terms of acting in 2017. With Transformers: The Last Knight hitting theaters this year, and the premiere of Daddy’s Home 2 in November, it makes sense that Wahlberg would be rolling in the dough. He earned the title of Highest-Paid Actor for this calendar year thanks to his $68 million income (pretax), which is a lot of money.
The Patriots Day actor edged out 2016’s highest-paid actor, Dwayne “The Rock’ Johnson for the top spot, bumping Johnson to number two. The Baywatch star earned a whopping $65 million this year, so his spot on the list is clearly a winning number. Plus, according to Forbes, though he’s no longer no. 1, Johnson’s 2017 earnings are actually $500,000 more than his earnings last year.
Fellow Fast and the Furious star Vin Diesel comes in at the number three spot with $54.5 million, followed by Adam Sandler at number four with $50.5 million. Jackie Chan rounds out the top five with $49 million.
From the number one spot to the number five slot, there is less than a $10 million difference, which is SO impressive. Clearly, 2017 has been a good year for the world’s biggest actors, and we’re really not that surprised.
